Firefly Rocket Launch |
Firefly Aerospace successfully launched their second rocket to orbit with a payload of cubesats. The launch was from Vandenberg SFB and occurred just after 9PM, making a nice display as the rocket rose to catch the light of the sun which had set about an hour earlier.
The photo above is a composite of frames showing the launch path. Further downrange, an unusual red glow could be seen, which was apparently due to oxygen released into the ionosphere can be seen in the photo below.
