What was supposed to be an eye-catching pre-sunrise launch into sunlight was delayed a few days and pushed back to launch an hour earlier, resulting in much less than the anticipated spectacle. In addition, clouds and haze obscured much of the view. But the launch was successful, and the first stage was recovered in a barge landing despite less than ideal sea conditions.
In this shot, the rising rocket is next to a street light. Photos were shot at 1/4 sec. with a 210mm telephoto lens (f/5.6) on a Nikon D600 @ ISO 1600.
