Lunar Terminator

Click on photo for larger version

The lunar terminator is always great for high-powered gazing just as the golden hours make for great photography near earth's sunrise and sunsets. The low angle of illumination highlights the tops of tall mountains just catching the first light of sunrise as well as creating interesting shadows of the central mountains in craters. The darkness of the bottom of deep craters also contrast with the shallow "ripples" over the lunar maria hills.
