Mars- 11/6/2005 ~0332 PST

This shot was taken as Mars was getting low in the southwest and seeing was already deteriorating. The processed image is a stack of 44 frames processed in Registax and filtered in Photoshop using a 1 minute segment of video just prior to a sudden jump in the image of Mars and deterioration in the seeing, as if Mars had passed behind a markedly different layer of the atmosphere. The sudden transition can be seen in this short mpeg video segment (852K).

The video was recorded from the OCA Anza site on a Sony TRV-DCR460 Digital 8 camcorder coupled to a Celestron C11 with 15mm eyepiece.
