This was the only (somewhat) decent shot I got of the Perseid meteor shower. Distant lightning flashes, clouds, and a last quarter moon all conspired against making this a good show this year. This particular shot was taken after the moon had risen. Two other frames (out of 71) showed meteors -- one extending off the side of a frame, and one with a meteor clipping the corner of the frame.
