2016 Mercury Transit


This transit of Mercury (indicated above by arrow) started before sunrise for me. In addition, hills to the east would have blocked my view for a few more minutes, but this turned out not to be an issue since low clouds blocked the view for several hours after sunrise. What could be seen of the transit was shot at 20 second intervals (see timelapse sequence) between 8:41 PDT and 11:42 PDT (end of transit). The images here are broadband (white-light) shots.
