Leonid Meteor Shower 2015

Leonid Fireball
Numerous clouds, sporadic activity from the Taurid meteor shower, and a very sparse Leonid meteor shower made for a disappointing night. But a Leonid fireball finally made an appearance shortly before dawn while Venus, Jupiter, and Mars aligned in the glow of the Zodiacal light. • Camera: Nikon D700
  • Exposure: 30 sec. @ ISO 1600
  • Lens: Sigma 15mm fisheye @ f/2.8
  • Time-lapse interval: 35 sec.

The fireball left a "smoke" trail which persisted for a few minutes as can be seen in this time-lapse sequence.
